Ten kilos of shabu with an estimated street value of P70 million were recovered from eight suspects arrested in antidrug operations in Meycauayan City in Bulacan yesterday.

Col. Lawrence Cajipe, Bulacan police director, said Sandy Domingo, Nida Barrientos and Rhodora Jose were collared in Barangay Pantoc at around 6:30 a.m.

They reportedly sold 100 grams of shabu to police officers who posed as buyers.

Christian Villaflores, Milky Joy Principe, Kevin Limbo, Bernard Flores and Clifford Bello were in a Toyota Camry when they transacted with undercover agents in a follow-up operation in Barangay Pandayan.

The suspects reportedly sold a kilo of shabu to undercover agents.

”They are responsible for the bulk distribution of illegal drugs in Central Luzon, Metro Manila and Southern Tagalog,” Cajipe said.

Brig. Gen. Rhodel Sermonia, Central Luzon police director, said the suspects have connections to the main source of illegal drugs from China.

The suspects also reportedly have access to the warehouses of the drug ring.

Last month, 765 kilos of shabu valued at P5.1 billion were seized in a raid on a house in Marilao, also in Bulacan.

Police said the illegal drugs could have been sourced from the Chinese-run Golden Triangle drug ring.

Sermonia said there would be no letup in the campaign against illegal drugs and other forms of lawlessness amid the coronavirus disease 2019 pandemic.
