Vivant names new chairman and CEO

Publicly listed Cebuano company Vivant Corp. has named Ramontito Garcia as its new chairman of the board and CEO amid several changes to its board and management structure, including the addition of Edgar John Garcia as vice chairman and the promotion of Arlo Sarmiento as president of the company.

Emil Andre Garcia has been appointed senior vice president for power. He is also EVP and COO of subsidiary Vivant Energy, which serves as holding company for Vivant Corp.’s interests in the energy sector.

Garcia expressed confidence in Vivant’s ability to adapt and thrive amid the challenges that industries and communitie­s currently face.

“As I take the helm of Vivant, it is important to note that our mission, vision and values remain. We have always maintained a future-facing approach to how we do business with an emphasis on adaptabili­ty in order to face challenges and grab opportunit­ies to improve the everyday lives of the Filipino people,” Garcia said. “While this year has seen more unpredicta­bility than any other year in Vivant's history, I am confident in the abilities and resilience of our team and the strength of our relationsh­ips with our partners and communitie­s to know that we will overcome these obstacles and emerge even stronger than before,” he added.

Vivant is one of the few Cebu-based companies listed on the Philippine Stock Exchange. It is a management and holding company with investment­s in the energy sector and a growing interest in infrastruc­ture developmen­t.
