Weed on various platforms in Asia
Miguel Odron (photo) racks up another accomplishment as Weed, his latest song under ABS-CBN Music International (AMI), earned favorable features on different music platforms in Asia.
Weed, a captivating stripped record where the former Idol Philippines finalist bared his raw emotions towards his first heartbreak, was featured on Apple Music’s Original Pilipino Music section and included in the music streaming site’s Absolute OPM playlist.
The relatable single also secured a spot on Spotify’s New Music Friday playlists in the Philippines and India, and was also included in YouTube Music’s SEA Fresh playlist. JOOX, a music streaming app in Asian markets such as Hong Kong, Indonesia, Malaysia, Myanmar and Thailand as well as the South African market, also featured the song in its Fresh Indie Global and Latest Arrival playlists.
Meanwhile, fans further validated the song’s fresh and honest depiction of heartache as seen on their comments on the song’s lyric video on YouTube. “What a marvelous artistry in music. Great Job Gue, congratulations,” Helen Gerardino said.
“It’s like a beautifully written poem,” Rovic Rey Coloso remarked. “Imagine listening to this late at night while it’s raining outside,” Ace Vee commented.
Miguel’s latest offering follows the success of his debut single, Chevy Cruze, which was also well-received across Asia, got editorial playlist inclusions in different regions and currently has more than 550,000 streams on Spotify.
He is just one of the fresh talents under AMI, ABS-CBN’s music label that seeks to make known the exceptional artistry of Filipinos to global audiences. Listen to Miguel’s sophomore single,
