Davao City under GCQ anew?

- – Edith Regalado

DAVAO CITY – This city will reportedly be reverted back to general community quarantine (GCQ) starting tomorrow until the end of the month due to rising cases of coronavirus disease 2019 or COVID-19.

The city is currently under modified general community quarantine.

Mayor Sara Duterte-Carpio said she received advance information that the Inter-Agency Task Force on Emerging Infectious Diseases (IATF) would place the city under the GCQ status starting on July 15. Carpio said she would appeal the IATF’s decision. Should her appeal be denied, Carpio said she has no other option but to abide by the decision of the task force.

“This is the result of some people’s stubborn attitude… for not following the protocols… for being impatient,” Duterte said as she urged residents to prepare for whatever decision the IATF would have for the city.
