Fast-food giants have tapped PayMaya to deploy contactless payments and safer transactions for its customers and store frontliners.

PayMaya said the Jollibee Group, McDonald’s, and KFC have adopted its end-to-end digital payments solutions for enterprise to enable contactless payments in-store, via drivethru, and through their respective online delivery portals.

The company said these efforts are in line with the recent guidelines issued by the government, encouraging alternative payment options as part of compliance with health and safety protocols.

“Cashless is now emerging as the preferred mode of payment for consumers as Filipinos embrace health and safety protocols under the new normal,” PayMaya president Shailesh Baidwan said.

“With quick-service restaurants adopting PayMaya’s end-to-end digital payments solutions, customers and frontliners alike are experiencing a better way to pay that’s also safer, more convenient, and rewarding - whether the transaction is for dine in, drive-thru, or orders via website or chat,”

Baidwan said.

According to PayMaya, the fast-food giants have deployed one by PayMaya point of sale (POS) device in their respective branches to enable customers to scan-to-pay via PayMaya QR, or tap, dip, or swipe using their Visa, Mastercard, and JCB credit, debit, and prepaid cards.

PayMaya’s digital invoice solution has also been implemented in their ordering system, easing the process of ordering through the fast-food chain’s delivery websites or respective hotlines.

Under Department of Trade and Industry Memorandum 20-37, restaurants in general community quarantine areas may open at 30 percent operational capacity, provided that venue capacity allows for social distancing protocols and are compliant with the proper protocols.

Meanwhile, for areas under modified general community quarantine, the establishments may operate at a maximum of 50 percent capacity for their dine-in services.

PayMaya, the digital financial services arm of PLDT’s Voyager Innovations, is an end-toend digital payments ecosystem enabler with platforms and services that cut across consumers, merchants, and government.
