- Rhodina Villanueva

Funds for the reconstruction of three mosques in Marawi City that were destroyed during the 2017 siege have been released.

The Task Force Bangon Marawi reported that the checks for the mobilization of the contractors for the three mosques were recently issued.

Department of Human Settlements and Urban Development chief of staff Zyril Carlos gave assurance that the rebuilding of the mosques would be finished within the December 2021 deadline set by the government despite qurantine restrictions as a precautionary measure against the coronavirus disease 2019.

“We are closely monitoring the progress to make sure that they are within the timetable,” Carlos said.

To be reconstructed are the Masjid Darussalam mosque in Barangay Raya Madaya, Masjid Disomangcop in Barangay Daguduban and White mosque in Barangay Lumbac Madaya. –
