EPD’s No. 2 drug suspect falls

A man identified by the Eastern Police District (EPD) as the No. 2 drug trafficker on its watchlist was arrested in a sting in Pasig City on Friday.

Frank Leonard Nunal, 50, was arrested at his home in Barangay Manggahan, where he usually sells around 50 grams of methamphet­amine hydrochlor­ide or shabu per transactio­n, said EPD director Brig. Gen. Johnson Almazan.

Among Nunal’s customers are bystanders and out- ofschool-youths, Almazan added.

Police seized around seven grams of shabu valued at P47,600 from Nunal, who is being held on charges of drug traffickin­g.

In Caloocan, Ferdeliza Mae Malasique, Ferdinand Malasique and Gerald Galang were arrested in a sting at the parking lot of a fastfood restaurant along Camarin Road on Friday.

A team of anti- narcotics operatives from the Philippine Drug Enforcemen­t Agency’s Central Luzon and Quezon City offices seized around 300 grams of shabu with a street value of P2.04 million from the suspects, according to Christian Frivaldo, PDEA Central Luzon director.

In Quezon City, a total of approximat­ely 52 grams of shabu valued at P353,600 were seized in separate stings in Quezon City on Friday.

Marc Aljohn Garlan, 23, was arrested for reportedly selling a pack of shabu for P45,000 to an undercover police officer in Barangay Fairview. Officers seized around 25 grams of shabu with a street value of P170,000 from the suspect.

Constructi­on worker Wilson Gaton, 32, allegedly accepted P10,000 from a policeman posing as a drug buyer for a pack of shabu in Barangay UP Campus. Around 17 grams of shabu valued at P115,600 was confiscate­d from him.

Peter Almares, 48; Johnifer Navarro, 27, and Maricar Abegail Caunan, 45, were arrested in Barangay Greater Lagro. Police seized 10 grams of shabu with a street value of P68,000 from them.

In Marikina, Amiel Penero, 39, was caught with two grams of shabu valued at P13,600 in a sting in Barangay San Roque on Friday.

Police are looking for his companion, Elmer Santos, who escaped.
