Maricel Laxa proud of her ‘new baby’

-

Maricel Laxa (photo) has just written a children’s book titled Maya at Laya which is about two sisters who both love to play but can’t seem to play well together. Maya is quiet and Laya is loud. One is neat and the other is messy. When their differences collide into one big mess, how will they ever learn to get along?

The story is inspired by Maricel’s niece and nephew whom she observed while taking care of them.

“Para silang aso’t pusa (dog and cat),” said Maricel who loves telling stories about children.

Maricel is a parenting advocate who graduated with a Family Life & Child Development from UP Diliman. Her book Super Benj was among the 2006 CMMA Book of the Year awardees.

“Maya at Laya is my new baby,” added Maricel. “I’m proud of it. I hope you can share it with your (Funfare) readers. This project aims to foster harmony in the home especially at a time like this.”
