Villar receives donation from Chinese youth group
A Chinese youth organization has donated 4,000 bowls of instant noodles to the office of Sen. Cynthia Villar to boost relief efforts for families affected by the COVID-19 pandemic.
Villar said she received the donation from the Philippine Fujian General Youth Association Inc. headed by its president James Go.
She said the noodles would be distributed to local government units and frontliners.
Villar thanked the group for the food items.
The senator has been leading the efforts of the Villar Social Institute for Poverty Alleviation and Governance (SIPAG) to help alleviate the suffering of Filipinos affected by the global health crisis.
Aside from food supplies, Villar SIPAG has been donating hospital equipment, portable handwashing stations, PPEs, protective masks and face shields to local government units.
The Villar family recently donated laboratory freezer, biological refrigerator, autoclave sterilizer and pass box ventilator to the Las Piñas General Hospital to increase its capacity in dealing with COVID-19 cases.
The hospital has opened its COVID-19 testing facilities.
