THIS DYNAMIC ALL-ROUNDER IS NOW AVAILABLE IN AUDI PHILIPPINES’ SHOWROOMS

-

In its 2021 form, the new Audi RS 5 Coupe—now available in Audi Philippines’ showrooms—has turned even sharper and more spectacular, thanks to a host of updated design details and intuitive technologies that match its stunning pulling power and immense traction. This highly dynamic all-rounder arrives locally with the 2021 RS Q3 Sportback, with the RS 4 Avant and RS 5 Sportback following immediately after to bolster Audi Sport’s lineup in the country. Other Audi Sport models offered in the Philippines are the five-cylinder-powered RS 3 Sedan, the RS 6 Avant that fuses supercar performance with station wagon practicality, and the Nurburgring fastest lap record-holder RS Q8 SUV.

Here are five amazing things to know about the 2021 Audi RS 5 Coupe:

1 ITS DESIGN IS INSPIRED BY THE ICONIC AUDI “UR” QUATTRO.

With a classic two-door shape, the new RS 5 Coupe remains true to its genetics not only in performance, but also in styling. Like the original—or “Ur”—Quattro of 1984, the RS 5 Coupe has perfectly balanced proportions defined by a long hood, short deck and muscular fenders marked by a pronounced wavy shoulder line. Placed above its signature RS Singleframe grille are implied air vents that call to mind those on the Ur Quattro. Bringing the design to modern times are its RS-specific darkened Matrix LED headlights, pentagonal side air inlets, and the RS exhaust system finished off by large, black tailpipes.

2 ITS RS PERFORMANCE FUNCTIONS ARE ACCESSED BY TOUCH CONTROLS.

THIS HIGHLY DYNAMIC ALLROUNDER ARRIVES LOCALLY WITH THE 2021 RS Q3 SPORTBACK, WITH THE RS 4 AVANT AND RS 5 SPORTBACK FOLLOWING IMMEDIATELY AFTER TO BOLSTER AUDI SPORT’S LINEUP IN THE COUNTRY.

The model’s futuristic interior design is focused on the new 10.1-inch MMI touch display that provides acoustic feedback, and has a menu that is as simple and intuitive to access as a smartphone’s. Shown on the 12.3-inch Audi virtual cockpit are special RS displays for information about tire pressure, torque output, engine oil temperature, boost pressure, and g-forces generated. Timing for lap sessions and acceleration runs can be activated via a button on the steering wheel.

3 ITS DRIVING CHARACTER CAN CHANGE VIA THE RS MODE BUTTON ON THE STEERING WHEEL.

Besides the comfort, auto, and dynamic drive modes available through the Audi drive select, the new Audi RS 5 Coupe also has RS1 and RS2 modes. These RS modes can be individually configured, saved, and then selected directly via the RS Mode button on the steering wheel. Audi drive select controls the engine and transmission management, steering boost, suspension settings, the quattro differential, the sound emitted by the RS sport exhaust system, and even the automatic airconditioning.

4 ITS SUSPENSION IS TUNED FOR SPORTINESS AND COMFORT.

The new Audi RS 5 Coupe rides on the RS sport suspension plus featuring Dynamic Ride Control, which consists of steel springs and

three-way adjustable dampers. This highly responsive system constantly counteracts the pitch and roll movements of the vehicle’s body to bind the car to the road, especially during hard cornering, resulting in agile handling. The characteristics of the dampers, which range from a comfortably luxurious ride to sporty dynamics, can be switched using Audi drive select.

5 ITS DYNAMICS ARE HONED FROM EXTENSIVE TESTING AT THE NURBURGRING.

Audi Sport tests and fine-tunes every new RS model at the famed Nurburgring track in Germany, with each high-performance vehicle undergoing at least 8,000 kilometers of evaluation and development work. The new Audi RS 5 Coupe is no different. It is equipped with a 2.9-liter, twin-turbo V6 TFSI engine producing 450 hp and 600 Nm, allowing it to sprint from zero to 100 km/h in 3.9 seconds. An eight-speed tiptronic transmission tuned for sportiness transmits the engine’s output to the quattro permanent all-wheel drive system that, in normal driving operation, distributes 40 percent of the power to the front axle and the rest to the rear. But, depending on requirements, the center differential can redirect up to 70 percent of the power toward the front, or up to 85 percent toward the rear, resulting in even more dynamic handling while constantly ensuring traction.
