Rosser top prospect in PBA Rookie Draft

PBA 3x3 standout Brandon Ganuelas-Rosser looms as a likely top pick as Blackwater and the 11 other teams get fresh talents from the PBA Season 47 Rookie Draft pool today at Robinsons Place Manila.

Rosser, a 6-foot-7 inside-outside operator, is being eyed by the Bossing, who hold the rights to not only the No. 1 selection but also the ninth and 11th from previous trade deals.

Rosser leads 12 Fil-foreign aspirants who made the final pool of 66 for the 4 p.m. draft, which marks the first face-toface proceeding­s since 2019.

Jeremiah Gray, another PBA 3x3 product, is in this list alongside CJ Cadua, Carlo de Chavez, JJ Espanola, Jerwyn Guinto, Tyrus Hill, Earvin Lacsamana, Ronnel Ramirez, Reuben Saldua, Kyle Toth and Kameron Vales.

From the ranks of homegrown prospects come the likes of Justin Arana, JM Calma, Jeo Ambohot, Javi Gomez de Liaño, Gian Mamuyac, Tyler Tio, Shaun Ildefonso and Encho Serrano.

Some high-profile applicants didn’t make the final cut like La Salle’s Justine Baltazar, who withdrew due to a commitment to a Japanese club, and Fil-Am Sedrick Barefield, who failed to submit a passport in time.

Terrafirma selects second overall then new franchise Converge tabs the third and fourth picks, which it inherited from Alaska, as Rain or Shine chooses at No. 5 and also at No. 10.

NorthPort (sixth), NLEX (seventh), Barangay Ginebra (eighth), and Magnolia (12th) round out the firstround order.

The Bossing also go first in the second round followed by the Fuel Masters, who take a crack at Nos. 2, 4, 7 and 11. The E-Painters select fifth and sixth in this round with Converge (third), Ginebra (eighth), Meralco (10th) and the Hotshots (12th) completing the round.
