Maynilad launches QR system

- – Catherine Talavera

West zone concessionaire Maynilad Water Services Inc. continues to enhance customer convenience as it launches a QR code system to initiate contactless transactions.

In a statement over the weekend, Maynilad said customers can access an electronic form that they can fill out and submit online by scanning the Maynilad customer care QR code.

It said the form goes directly to the concerned Maynilad Business Area (BA) office for prompt processing, whether the transaction is for a service application or for handling an inquiry, report, request or concern.

The company said dedicated personnel would man the channel to ensure that customers who course their requests via the QR code would be given feedback via phone call or email within two working days.

Maynilad customer experience and retail operations head Christopher Lichauco said the QR code would offer a more convenient option to customers visiting their BA offices.

“We noticed an increase in the number of customers who physically visit our BA offices with the lifting of pandemicrelated restrictions,” Lichauco said.

The Maynilad customer care QR code was launched so that customers have a more convenient option to get their service requests addressed promptly. They don’t have to leave the comfort and safety of their homes to transact with us,” he said.

Maynilad said the customers can find the official QR code in its Facebook page, Twitter account, statement of account envelopes, flyers distributed by Maynilad personnel, posters in barangay offices, and email to customers registered in Maynilad Alerts.

Apart from the QR code, the west zone concessionaire earlier provided customers with more convenience through its paperless billing option, which was launched in October last year.

Under its paperless billing program, customers will receive an electronic statement of account (e-SOA) instead of a printed copy of their water bills.

“Enrolling in the Maynilad paperless billing program eliminates the need to touch a printed copy of SOA or face a meter reader to receive the SOA, thus lessening physical contact that may lead to COVID-19 transmission,”Maynilad said earlier.

It said once enrolled, customers will also have convenient 24/7 access to their current and previous Maynilad water bills via the My Water Bill Portal and receive bill notifications via the channel of their choice such as email or short message service.

“With all transactions shifting to digital because of the pandemic, Maynilad endeavored to give our customers the option to just receive their monthly water bills via electronic means,”Lichauco said earlier.
