Pangilinan-owned ePDS Inc. and Indian firm Newgen Software have created a digital manager that firms can use to process their documents and streamline their procedures.

ePDS Inc., a joint venture of ePLDT Inc., DataPost Pte. Ltd. and Singpost, yesterday said that it introduced to the market Doctrieve, an enterprise content management solution that companies can maximize for their data handling.

Developed with Newgen, Doctrieve serves as a software-as-a-service manager that is designed to direct the end-to-end cycle of business content, from origination to disposition.

ePDS chief operating officer Guia Bettina Gordon said Doctrieve can deliver documents across multiple channels in response to the workflow requirements of organizations. As such, the digital manager can speed up procedures needed to overcome emerging challenges.

“Doctrieve is a new solution that improves how companies manage and process their business assets documents and data. Together with technology partner Newgen, this solution is a product of our 14 years of expertise and domain knowledge, furthering our thrust to provide companies the ability to adapt to new business challenges,” Gordon said.

Newgen geography head and vice president Pramod Kumar said firms should consider shifting to new ways of content management given the flaws posed by the usual mechanisms.

“The traditional ways of managing content had their disadvantages for organizations in various ways,” Kumar said.

“Leveraging Doctrieve, built on Newgen Contextual Content Services Platform, allows business leaders to simplify content-centric processes while infusing context in all of their engagements,” he added.

According to ePDS, Doctrieve not only improves the efficiency in workflow processes, but it also promotes sustainable practices among users. As a digital solution, it minimizes carbon footprint by doing away with the usual paper trail in offices.

Also, ePDS said Doctrieve eliminates the difficulties in maintaining documentation by providing functions, including searchability, storage, update, among others. The digital manager is hosted by ePLDT’s Microsoft Azure Cloud to make sure data are protected.
