Fire code compliance seminar
The Implementing Rules and Regulations (IRR) of RA 9514, or the Fire Code of the Philippines, serves as the framework that guides the Bureau of Fire Protection in the implementation of the law to ensure public safety and to promote economic development through the prevention and suppression of all kinds of destructive fires.
To help organizations on their compliance with RA 9514, the Center for Global Best Practices will host a two-session training titled Compliance with the 2019 IRR of the Fire Code of the Philippines on August 22 at 1:30 p.m. to 4:45 p.m. (Session 1) and Aug. 23, at 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. (Session 2) via Zoom.
The program aims to walk attendees through the IRR and its essential revisions based on the previous IRR so that each of the rules, divisions and sections of RA 9514 will have clarity to ensure adherence to the updated standards of fire prevention and safety measures and promote utmost accountability.
Violation of this new Fire Code is costly due to stiffer fines, non-renewal of building permits, invalidation of fire insurance claims, torts, damages, and even criminal charges in case of death due to non-compliance and negligence.
The program will feature Anthony Arroyo who is the City Fire director of the Makati City Fire Station.
He was a member of the Fire Code Technical Staff – Technical Working Group (FCTS-TWG) that crafted the Revised Implementing Rules and Regulation of the Fire Code of the Philippines Revised 2019.
Registration is open to the general public. A must for building owners, property administrators, facilities managers, safety officers, developers and planners, contractors, engineers and architects, building officials, engineering officials of LGUs, enforcement officers, lawyers and consultants.
