Man dragged out of home and shot in Cauayan

A 59-year-old man was killed Sun­day night af­ter he was re­port­edly dragged out of his home and shot by three gun­men in Barangay Inayawan, Cauayan, Ne­gros Oc­ci­den­tal.

Po­lice iden­ti­fied the fa­tal­ity as Or­lando Biana, a res­i­dent of Purok 1 in the said barangay.

Cauayan mu­nic­i­pal po­lice in­ves­ti­ga­tors said the sus­pects were iden­ti­fied as Rico Vil­lanueva and Jorge Vil­lanueva, along with an­other gun­man iden­ti­fied only by the alias “Don­don Estrada.”

The three al­legedly charged the home and, once in­side, they dragged Biana into the ter­race and shot him mul­ti­ple times be­fore flee­ing the crime scene.

A pre­lim­i­nary au­topsy of the vic­tim’s re­mains found he sus­tained a to­tal seven gun­shot wounds across his body.

Po­lice are now in­ves­ti­gat­ing the mo­tive be­hind the at­tack./

Thirty one cen­te­nar­i­ans, or those who have reached the age of 100, were each awarded P100,000 from the pro­vin­cial govern­ment, along with a Ne­gros Oc­ci­den­tal Com­pre­hen­sive Health Pro­gram card and plaque.
