Local theater group adapts Chekhov play
Local theater company PerfLab recently revealed their latest work, “Arbol De Fuego,” adapted from the Anton Chekhov play “The Cherry Orchard.” The reworked piece revolves around the decline of a wealthy Talisay City family during the Martial Law era.
The play looks at a family faced with decisions as an inherited hacienda is on the verge of auction.
Rody Vera originally adapted the story and it was later translated into Hiligaynon.
The play features Lovelle Bellocillo, Charlene Mae Tupas, Leezo Dionzon, Nonilon Torpez, Noel Pahayupan, among other; and is under the direction of Rene Hinojales.
Performances begin on Friday, November 16, at the Pope John Paul II Diocesan Cultural Center at the Sacred Heart Seminary.
