P200M dredg­ing project in San En­rique be­gins

The Depart­ment of Pub­lic Works and High­ways (DPWH) has started a P200 mil­lion ex­pan­sion and dredg­ing project at the Bag­o­nawa River and Can­son­s­ing Creek in Barangay Tabao Rizal, San En­rique, Ne­gros Oc­ci­den­tal.

San En­rique Mayor Jil­son Tu­bil­lara said the dredg­ing projects are be­ing done to con­trol flood­ing in the town dur­ing heavy rains. The mayor called the mu­nic­i­pal­ity a catch basin for wa­ter orig­i­nat­ing from Bago City, La Car­lota City, and Mur­cia.

The project is ex­pected to take one year to com­plete.
