STI-West Negros University led a parade of lights along Lacson Street over the weekend as part of the first Bacolod Festival of Lights.

Bacolod City celebrated its first Festival of Lights over the weekend, where a switch-on ceremony was held to light up Christmas decoration­s around the Bacolod Public Plaza.

Events began with a parade of lights along Lacson Street, led by students from STI-West Negros University.

Participan­ts carry colorful lanterns depicting various sea life in an effort to support the preservati­on of marine life.

Present for the event were Bacolod City Mayor Evelio Leonardia, Vice Mayor El Cid Familiaran, Lone District Representa­tive Greg Gasataya, City Councilor Em Ang, City Administra­tor John Orola, among others.
