STI-West Ne­gros Univer­sity led a pa­rade of lights along Lac­son Street over the week­end as part of the first Ba­colod Fes­ti­val of Lights.

Ba­colod City cel­e­brated its first Fes­ti­val of Lights over the week­end, where a switch-on cer­e­mony was held to light up Christ­mas dec­o­ra­tions around the Ba­colod Pub­lic Plaza.

Events be­gan with a pa­rade of lights along Lac­son Street, led by stu­dents from STI-West Ne­gros Univer­sity.

Par­tic­i­pants carry col­or­ful lanterns de­pict­ing var­i­ous sea life in an ef­fort to sup­port the preser­va­tion of marine life.

Present for the event were Ba­colod City Mayor Eve­lio Leonar­dia, Vice Mayor El Cid Fa­mil­iaran, Lone District Rep­re­sen­ta­tive Greg Gasa­taya, City Coun­cilor Em Ang, City Ad­min­is­tra­tor John Orola, among oth­ers.
