P2.52B Ba­colod City bud­get ap­proved

The P2.52 bil­lion Ba­colod City Gen­eral Fund Bud­get for 2019 was ap­proved dur­ing the Sang­gu­ni­ang Pan­lung­sod reg­u­lar ses­sion ear­lier this week.

A state­ment re­leased by the Ba­colod City gov­ern­ment re­it­er­ated com­ments by Ba­colod City Coun­cilor Cae­sar Distrito, who chairs the SP Com­mit­tee on Ap­pro­pri­a­tions and Fi­nance, not­ing, next year’s bud­get is higher than the pre­vi­ous bud­get by P270 mil­lion.

The re­lease also re­stated, over half of the bud­get, P1.33 bil­lion, is al­lo­cated for main­te­nance and other op­er­at­ing ex­penses; while an­other P660 mil­lion is al­lot­ted for per­son­nel ser­vices and P252 mil­lion for the city’s de­vel­op­ment fund.

Among lo­cal projects noted in the bud­get in­clude P5 mil­lion for the city’s sports pro­gram, P5 mil­lion for “mis­cel­la­neous” pub­lic school fees, P2 mil­lion for a pub­lic WiFi project, among oth­ers./
