Early morning quake strikes Iloilo

A 2.4-magnitude earthquake was recorded around 4:11 a.m. yesterday with an epicenter just west of Leon, Iloilo.

A Philippine Institute of Volcanolog­y and Seismology bulletin indicating no damage was recorded due to the incident, nor were there any

anticipate­d aftershock­s.

Earthquake­s ranging between 1.0 and 3.0

in magnitude are often classified as a Level 1 on the Mercalli intensity scale, where very few even feel the tremor.
