Early morn­ing quake strikes Iloilo

A 2.4-mag­ni­tude earth­quake was recorded around 4:11 a.m. yes­ter­day with an epi­cen­ter just west of Leon, Iloilo.

A Philip­pine In­sti­tute of Vol­canol­ogy and Seis­mol­ogy bul­letin in­di­cat­ing no dam­age was recorded due to the in­ci­dent, nor were there any

an­tic­i­pated af­ter­shocks.

Earthquakes rang­ing be­tween 1.0 and 3.0

in mag­ni­tude are of­ten clas­si­fied as a Level 1 on the Mer­calli in­ten­sity scale, where very few even feel the tremor.
