One dead after motorcycle collides with jeepney in Taculing

At least one person is confirmed dead, while another is reported to be in critical condition, after a motorcycle collided with a jeepney early yesterday morning in front of Police Station 6 (PS6) in Barangay Taculing, Bacolod City.

Police identified the fatality as Lindsay Labiga, a resident of Celine Homes, Barangay Estefania of the said city; while the injured was identified as Aran Aungon, a resident of Barangay Guintubhan in Isabela, Negros Occidental.

PS6 commander, Police Senior Inspector Wilfredo Benoman, Jr., said Labiga and Aungon were travelling north when they collided with a westbound jeepney driven by Edgardo Robles.

Upon hearing of the crash, PS6 personnel immediatel­y called in the city’s emergency services.

Both victims were rushed to the Corazon Locsin Monteliban­o Memorial Regional Hospital for treatment, although Labiga was declared dead on arrival by hospital staff.

The force of the impact reportedly severed Aungon’s right foot.

Police are presently investigat­ing the incident after learning Labiga and Aungon were reportedly fighting while on the road.
