Around P500,000 worth of suspected shabu was recovered last Thursday by Regional Drug Enforcement Unit (RDEU) operatives in a buy-bust operation at Purok Cereza North in Barangay 3, Bacolod City.

Police identified the suspect as 39-year-old Amir Ahmad Ali, alias Ali Akmad; and 48-yearold Edwin Ledesma, both residents of the said barangay.

Recovered from their possession were six packs of suspected shabu and four elongated sachets containing the same substance.

The seized items weighed approximately 35 grams.

According to RDEU-Negros team leader, Police Senior Inspector Marc Joeil Reclamado, the suspects were under surveillance for over one week.

Ali was reportedly working as a service driver and using it as a front for illegal activity.

Possession of illegal drugs are expected to be filed against the suspects, who are currently detained at Police Station 2./
