Negros Occidental inmates urged to avoid illegal drugs
During a recent awareness seminar, Corazon Locsin Montelibano Memorial Regional Hospital Psychiatry and Behavioral Medicine head, Dr. Ian June Querubin, urged jail inmates to avoid illegal drugs.
In addition, they were also encouraged to become antidrug advocates and share their personal stories to illustrate the negative effects of drug use.
The seminar also touched upon the issue of tuberculosis.
Querubin, who also heads the hospital’s Tuberculosis Directly Observed Treatment Strategy department, discussed misconceptions, prevention, early detection, and treatment for the disease.
He stated, tuberculosis is curable but deadly if left untreated./
