Con­crete path­way un­der con­struc­tion in Ja­ni­uay

The De­part­ment of En­vi­ron­ment and Nat­u­ral Re­sources- Pro­vin­cial En­vi­ron­ment and Nat­u­ral Re­sources Of­fice led the ground­break­ing for a 2.74-kilo­me­ter con­crete path­way be­tween Barangays Quipot and Barasa­lon in Ja­ni­uay.

Iloilo Gover­nor Arthur De­fen­sor, Jr. said the project will pro­vide lo­cal res­i­dents with “ease of travel,” adding, it will up­lift their liv­ing con­di­tions.

He also as­sured, the pro­vin­cial gov­ern­ment is con­sid­er­ing more longterm projects to ben­e­fit far-flung neigh­bor­hoods.

The project cost a to­tal of P17 mil­lion.

Also present for the ground­break­ing were Iloilo third district Rep. Lorenz De­fen­sor, Pro­vin­cial Board Mem­bers Matt Pal­abrica and Ja­son Gon­za­les, Ja­ni­uay Mayor Bien­venido Mar­garico, among oth­ers.

In ad­di­tion, the con­gress­man promised to pro­vide util­ity poles in order for ar­eas of the said barangays to have ac­cess to elec­tric­ity./
