Why do we study science?

- By Corazon D. Francisco, Teacher III, Talotog Elementary School, Murcia III

What is the best definition of science? According to Wikipedia, science is a systematic enterprise that builds and organizes knowledge in the form of testable explanations and predictions about the universe.

As stated in the Science Council, science is the pursuit and application of knowledge and understanding of the natural and social world following a systematic methodology based on evidence.

The scientific methodology includes the following: First, Objective observation: Second, Measurement and data (possibly although not necessarily using mathematics as a tool); and lastly, Evidence.

What is a science subject? In consonance with Wikipedia, science is a universal subject that spans the branch of knowledge that examines the structure and behavior of the physical and natural world through observation and experiment. Science education is most commonly broken down into the following three fields: Biology, Chemistry, and Physics.

Who is the father of science? Galileo Galilei pioneered the experimental scientific method and was the first to use a refracting telescope to make important astronomical discoveries. He is often referred to as the "father of modern astronomy" and the "father of modern physics." Albert Einstein called Galileo the "father of modern science." (nmspacemuseum.org)

Why study science? In line with nzcurriculum.tki.org. nz, science is able to inform problem-solving and decision making in many areas of life. Develop an understanding of the world, built on current scientific theories. Learn that science involves particular processes and ways of developing and organizing knowledge and that these continue to evolve.

What is the importance of science? Science and technology have had a major impact on society, and their impact is growing. By drastically changing our means of communication, the way we work, our housing, clothes, and food, our methods of transportation, and, indeed, even the length and quality of life itself, science has generated changes in the moral values and basic philosophies of mankind.

Beginning with the plow, science has changed how we live and what we believe. By making life easier, science has given man the chance to pursue societal concerns such as ethics, aesthetics, education, and justice; to create cultures, and to improve human conditions. (D.P. In a nutshell, science has helped to save more lives today than before. Medicines, technologies, and operations from the knowledge of science have contributed to the safety, security, and progression of the human species on earth. Science has helped people to see the world forming from several energy levels as required. (Steemitsteemit.com)

Scientific knowledge allows us to develop new technologies, solve practical problems, and make informed decisions — both individually and collectively. Because its products are so useful, the process of science is intertwined with those applications: New scientific knowledge may lead to new applications. (undsci.berkeley. edu)
