Educational platforms (Learning Management Systems – LMS) are innovative tools that can be used by educational institutions during these pandemic days. It can help us to create, adopt, administer, distribute, and manage all of the activities related to e-learning training. It can act as a complement to classroom instructions.
This technology makes the classroom experience much more powerful because 21st century educational methodologies have changed into those which are much simpler, more personalized, interactive and experiential (www.cae.net).
Learning Resources Management and Development System (LRMDS), Learner Information System LIS, E-class record, Google meet and google classroom, email, DepEd Commons, Learner Enrolment and Survey Form are some of the Learning Management Systems that the Department of Education (DepEd) is using nowadays in order to get personal information, enrolling and consolidating each student’s data.
Some of these are used in the online learning like the DepEd common and LRMDS. These platforms can also be used to download some learning materials which can be used in our lesson.
With this kind of situation that we are facing right now, we are experiencing many difficulties because of this COVID-19 pandemic. Technology really plays a vital role in information dissemination and updates on task to be done in school or even at home.
DepEd provides us plenty of software that can be useful for both the teachers and the learners. Through these platforms, our job becomes paperless and easy.
However, in order to have these LMS beneficial and functional for all of us, we need first to provide ourselves with the gadgets like smartphones, personal computer, tablets or laptops and of course the most important one is our fast and stable internet connection.
