Bacolod to compete in 3x3 basketball bubble tourney

Bacolod-Master Sardines is set to compete in the 2020 Chooks-to-Go Pilipinas 3x3 President's Cup, which will start today at the Inspire Sports Academy Calamba in Calamba, Laguna.

Bacolod are big men 6-foot-5 Alfred Batino and 6-foot-5 Chris Lalata and guards 5-foot-10 Anton Asistio, 5-foot-11 Robin Roño and 6-foot-1 Jul-Ashri Ignacio.

Bacolod-Master Sardines showed their readiness for the competitio­n after placing runner-up during the preseason tournament on Monday night following a 21-17 loss to Family's Brand Sardines-Zamboanga City Chooks in the finals.

Prior to that, BacolodMas­ter Sardines concluded the eliminatio­n round with 2-1 winloss record following wins over Petra Cement-Roxas City ZN Rockies (21-13) and Palayan City-Capitals (21-14) and loss to Uling Roasters-Butuan City (21-16).

In the semifinals round, the Bacolod City squad of Asistio, Roño, Batino, Lalata, and Ignacio defeated PasigSta. Lucia Realtors (21-13).

Other 3x3 teams competing in the bubble are Nueva Ecija Rice Vanguards,

Big Boss Cement-Porac MSC Green Gorillas, Zamboanga Peninsula Valientes MLV, Pagadian City-Rocky Sports, Sarangani Marlins, and Bicol Paxful 3×3 Pro.

Hostilitie­s in the first conference of the country's first-ever profession­al 3x3 basketball league that is also endorsed by FIBA 3X3 begins today at 1:00 p.m.

The next three legs will be on October 23, 25 and 27 while the grand finals which has P1 million as the top prize will take place on October 30. Matches will be shown on Chooks-ToGo Pilipinas Facebook page, Chooks3x3T­MChannel and on Beam TV Channel 31./
