Advice To Young Kids To Love Math

- By Deborrah S. Torres, Teacher III Domingo Lacson National High School

It will never be easy but it will be worth it. Addition and subtraction might be a piece of cake but a degree higher might shake the core. This almost traumatizing episode for kids usually starts in algebra to calculus. It does not help that the older ones would threaten the younger ones how hard the subject can be with a little retelling of their most traumatizing experience. It will never be hard but it will be worth it. There is no one to blame for this assumption but Mathematics has proven its world. From the Great Pyramid of Giza to the Leaning Tower of Pisa, math has worked wonders that would always maze us how it can be presented in a colorful and aesthetically pleasing way.

This is the beauty of loving mathematics. It would explain why a Leaning tower could lean without making a fuss with it collapsing over time. It was math is doing that the great pyramid would leave spectators around the world in awe and amazement at how perfect and well calculated the plan is. That is the beauty of math. It can be as perfect as the pyramids or as flawed as the leaning tower but it is still beautiful. It will continue to challenge us for centuries to come but it will always produce an amazing outcome.

To the young kids who are starting to hate math, think twice or maybe thrice. You are hating at the masterpiece of the world. They would say that once we hate something, we fail to see the beauty it contains. This will also happen if you start hating Math, you fail to see the mystery it possesses. It will never be easy but it does not mean it is hard. It will never be easy but it will always be challenging. (Paid article)
