CLMMRH: No let up in new COVID cases
Corazon Locsin Montelibano Memorial Regional Hospital (CLMMRH) head, Dr. Julius Drilon, said over the weekend that close monitoring of the COVID-19 situation in the local community showed there has been no let up in new cases.
Based on samples collected by the Bacolod City Epidemiology and Surveillance Unit (CESU) from June 14 to 18, it showed a similar and consistent trend on the positivity rate since the beginning of June.
The CESU report also showed that there is currently a positivity rate of 33.52 percent with samples showing one out of three are positive for COVID-19.
“There are no signs of lowering down of cases,” Drilon said.
The CLMMRH head said we are the solution to the growing problem, and he urged everyone to combine forces in mitigating the spread of the virus by encouraging everyone to stay at home and consistently wear face masks and face shields.
He further added the cost of preventing COVID-19 is cheaper than healing and recovering from the illness.
As of yesterday, Bacolod City has 2,270 active COVID-19 cases, while Negros Occidental has 2,633 active cases, based on the data of the Department of Health 6
