Husband shoots wife dead

A woman was allegedly shot dead by her husband out of jealousy inside their home at Sitio Cabesa in Calatrava town’s Barangay San Isidro last Thursday night, June 17.

Police identified the fatality as 28-year-old Sendy Ambasing.

Based on investigation by the Calatrava Municipal Police Station, the suspect, 32-year-old Alex Ambasing, had a heated argument with his wife. The argument then quickly escalated further and the suspect pulled out a firearm and allegedly shot his wife in the head.

The suspect immediately fled the crime scene, while the victim was rushed to the Calatrava District Hospital but she was declared dead-on-arrival by hospital staff.

Police have launched a manhunt operation against the suspect.
