Iana Bernardez admits pressure being known as Angel Aquino’s daughter
In the new iWantTFC family drama “Misis Piggy,” Iana Bernardez plays the role of one of Sylvia Sanchez and Ricky Davao’s three children who are torn between their two long estranged parents.
“Ang character ko dito ay si Steffi, ako ‘yung middle child. Ako ‘yung medyo mahilig mang-away kay ate Lanie (Ria Atayde). Basta lagi kaming hindi nag-sisee eye to eye. What’s fun is hindi kami mukhang magkakapatid. So ‘yun ‘yung worry ko getting into the set. Pero nung nakita na sa camera, aliw na aliw kami na mukha talaga kaming magkakapatid. It was super fun. Happy ako with how the show turned out after watching it several times in post (production) and I really want my mom to see it,” she shared during the “Misis Piggy” mediacon.
In real life, Iana is the eldest daughter of actress
Angel Aquino, a fact which she admits led to the fact why she chose to use a different screen name from her mother.
“I think helpful na when we use our father’s names because our fathers aren’t in the industry. At least for me, hindi agad agad (alam). Kasi sabi kamukha ko daw siya so pag ginamit ko pa yung Aquino, automatic may shadow na ni mommy. Which I don’t mind.
“I’m so proud of my mom. She’s a beautiful woman, a great actress. I’m very proud of her but she allowed me to get in the industry on my own feet and nung pinasok ko yung pag-aartista yes medyo na-pressure ako kasi si Angel Aquino
magandang babae, she’s at her age now and she still looks that beautiful. Actually dun ako medyo na-pepressure na parang, ‘My God pagtanda ko magiging ganun kaganda ba ako (laughs),’” she admitted.
More than just a pretty
face, Iana said she also wants to be known as a talented actress just like her mom whose career in showbiz has already spanned more than 25 years. Iana said she also looks forward to working with her mom in the future.
