Lacson, Ferrer formally proclaimed winners in NegOcc elections
Negros Occidental Governor Eugenio Jose Lacson and Vice Governor Jeffrey Ferrer were formally proclaimed as winners of the local elections in the province, securing their second term in their respective offices.
In the final tally of the Commission on Elections (Comelec) in Negros Occidental, Lacson secured an overwhelming victory against former Bacolod City congressman and Bacolod city administrator Atty. John Orola, 933,572 to 57,701 votes.
Ferrer also secured an overwhelming victory getting 816,938 votes against Jonry Gargarita who only secured 70,374 votes.
For the provincial board member race, the winners were Momoy Debulgado and Araceli Somosa of the first district; Pal Guanzon and Jongben Mirhan of the second district; Manman Ko and Andrew Montelibano of the third district; Joeben Alonso and Andrew Martin Torres of the fourth district; Doc Rita Gatuslao and Anton Occeño of the fifth district; and Jeffrey Tubola and Macho Alonso of the sixth district.
In a statement following their proclamation, Lacson said their landslide win is both an inspiration and a reminder for them to do even better.
“The unanimous number of votes given to us by the Negrenses is a manifestation of an approval of what we have done in the first three years,” Lacson said.
Lacson also said he is very thankful of the support given by the Sangguniang Panlalawigan and the continued support by the executive office in the next three years.
Ferrer, meanwhile, reaffirmed his support of the Lacson administration adding that they have a solid unity among the local officials./
