Literacy is the use of language and taught to convey ideas. It encourages self-empowerment and aids in the development of understanding of numerous texts, individuals, and circumstances. The ability to read and write is a crucial component of advancement in our global society. Unfortunately, a staggering 8% or 58.4 million or almost 60M of kids (base on the UNESCO 2019 survey) do not have access to school at a time when being able to read and write is necessary in order to participate effectively in society. The reading readiness of a child is the most important aspect in evaluating how ready they are to read. The child’s self-concept, value of education, level of physical and mental development, and willingness to learn to read are what decide whether or not they are ready.

Reading proficiency enables students to take advantage of educational opportunities and to fully engage in the social and economic activities in which they engage. It takes the simultaneous application of numerous talents to become a proficient reader. Obviously, this process takes time. These fundamental abilities, at first, should be studied separately, then readers should grow and combine them as they get more skilled at each one, until they can read independently and fully comprehend what they read. Basic reading abilities include phonics and comprehension by fostering particular talents during your child’s first 5 to 9 years of life, you can lay a solid foundation for the remainder of their life. Think of it as giving them an educational advantage. Instilling literacy in children while they are still young is one of the talents that parents may do. Reading is a cornerstone of early education, and it is emphasized frequently every day. Everyone needs basic learning skills, literacy per se, whether it’s for writing grocery lists, reading traffic signs, or learning a new language, which is a skill. Vital brain connections are formed very early in life and serve as the basis for all future learning and intellectual capacity when they are activated. Reading to young children can help these connections grow. Simply put, reading to your kids when they’re young activates these brains.

Teachers urge students to love reading because it encourages interest in other academic subjects. They should complete their education since they will always be readers, writers, and learners. Teachers have long highlighted the need of having effective reading programs that result in the accomplishment of recognizable and quantifiable reading outcomes.
