Demi-Leigh Tebow shares what she learned after winning Miss U
Demi-Leigh Tebow took to social media to mark the fifth anniversary of her Miss Universe coronation.
“Today marks the five years, half a decade, since I became the second South African to become @missuniverse. What an opportunity of a lifetime,” she said in her post.
Demi extended her gratitude to South Africa for giving her the opportunity to represent the country in the pageant.
“I will forever be grateful to South Africa for trusting me to represent our incredible country on a world stage,” she stated.
She said that she hopes her accomplishment will inspire many to chase their dreams.
“This win was not just a personal victory, but I hope a victory for every young boy and girl growing up in a small town with a heart full of big dreams.
With hard work and a ton of dedication, much is possible,” she said.
Demi then shared some of the things she has learned in the last five years since she was crowned Miss Universe.
She wrote: “My MU crown was temporary, but the ripple effect of impact you can have is endless. We all have a platform and the ability to make positive changes in the lives of others. The two hardest things I’ve faced in my life to date (losing my baby sister and surviving an armed hijack) have led me to find my life’s biggest purpose.”
The former beauty queen added: “Find a life partner who doesn’t just share your interests, but shares your purpose. Community is everything. I am so grateful for my handful of true friends and the community we have here on social media. I love getting to do life
with all of you. Thank you for your continued love and support. Here’s to the last five most incredible years.”
Demi was crowned Miss Universe 2017 in Las Vegas, Nevada on November 26, 2017.
