Wedding Essentials - - WE EVENT -

The Peninsula Manila’s annual wedding fairs have earned the hotel an enviable reputation in the wedding industry for offering brides and grooms a plethora of choices, ideas and alternatives for planning their wedding.

This year was no different. To mark its 42nd anniversary since The Peninsula Manila hosted its first wedding reception, the hotel partnered with industry leader Rita Neri Event Planners for Weddings at The Peninsula 2018.

The one-day affair was a blend of elegance, sophistication and luxury that provided those attending the chance to meet exclusive professionals from the wedding industry in one location and peruse a range of wedding essentials, each one chosen for their signature Peninsula style and savoir faire – from tabletop decorations, wedding cakes and flowers, to bridal gowns, limousines and helicopters, and honeymoons.

The love affair began at The Lobby, where a 500 pound and seven feet tall cake designed to resemble a wedding gown designed by Brunei’s premier cake designer Faridah Yussof was on display for everyone to admire.

Next was the grand staircases garlanded with masses of floral sculptures designed by renowned floral artists Teddy Manuel and Zenas Pineda. With hundreds upon hundreds of blooms, they were a sight to behold.

The Upper Lobby was transformed into a luxurious, pop-up space offering a glittering showcase of jewelry from Jewelmer, Bvlgari, Charriol and Denovo Diamonds; honeymoon destinations from nine Peninsula hotels and Amanpulo; works of art from Salcedo Auctions; a capsule collection from Rosa Clara; lifestyle selections from Pottery Barn/west Elm; shoes by Jimmy Choo and Jefferson Si, among many others.

The Conservatory featured a carefully selected gathering of the country’s most exclusive wedding suppliers, whose vetted services and seasoned advice proved to be an invaluable resource when planning one of the most important moments in a young couple’s life.

To close the event in style, The

Lobby showcased a fashion parade of stunning bridal wear by acclaimed Filipino designers Mak Tumang, Mark Bumgarner, Michael Leyva, Joey

Samson, and Jojie Lloren. The show combined the passion of designers, the intimacy of a boutique and the beauty of bridal fashions against the backdrop of The Lobby’s iconic “Sunburst” sculpture by National Artist Napoleon “Billy” Abueva.
