Wedding Essentials

Fire dances, Fireworks, and Free spirits

“When I fall in love…it will be forever” are love song lyrics that are much like the same as the promise we made to each other.

Dustin and I never saw ourselves in a formal setting for our wedding. Our idea is a chic boho beach wedding that would showcase our love for nature and freedom.

As we both work for the same hospitality industry as irectors, our chemistry was undeniably perfect and remarkably visible in the execution of all the elements incorporated in our wedding plan.

Dustin is the managing director of the Bellevue Resort in Panglao Island, Bohol and there is no other choice as our ceremony venue. It has to be the venue of our ceremony. The amazing floral arrangement, the serene sunset, the distinctive whooshing sound of the waves and the casual whimsical setting, all add to the perfection of the day.

We unanimously chose the boho theme and went for the unconventional. We both have achieved that which we envisioned to offer all our special friends and family who were there to celebrate with us this one day we will always remember.

So we had pastel colors with touches of my favorite green for our motif, my personal collection of dreamcatchers, flower crowns, ribbons and laces to achieve the Bohemian sense of flowing liberty that we wanted all throughout the celebration.

The night before, we had the surprise Despedida de Soltera thrown by my friends where everyone who came to the party enjoyed relaxing spa treatments. Friends took the moment to share their well wishes and advice that truly left me teary-eyed.

Then we all woke up to the natural beauty of the surrounding where guests stood by to witness the much-awaited bridal walk. As unconventional as it is, I had my guy best friend as my “man of onor”. I held on to my bouquet which I had customized with a charm bracelet, a photo of my late dad, three crosses, flowers, a dolphin and an airplane pendant and Mama Mary medallion attached to it. All of these items held special meanings for me.

The reception on a dreamy al fresco lounge was hosted by Dustin’s best friends who did a very good job in leaving everyone extremely entertained with their impromptu calls for warm messages and friendship testimonials. No set or lined up programs. Everything was free flowing.

To complete the Bohemian beat, the guests were further entertained by fire dancers as well as a dazzling firework display, which both contributed to a festive atmosphere. The ambiance was relaxed and loose.
