Forevermore
When I was a young girl, unlike other girls my age, I didn’t have a dream wedding. Oh but I had a good list of how my “dream guy” would look and be like; but a dream wedding I do not have. All I had was a vision of a “beautiful and heartfelt wedding” someday.
Justin and I started dating eight years before we got married. We were in our senior years in college working on to becoming professional lawyers. He was every bit of the dream guy in my list and as soon as we became the professionals we wanted to become, he proposed. Since, he has always endeared me with such sweet words telling me that I am his “dream come true”. So much of dreaming, we now face the more awesome and exciting world of reality. We are so much more in love as ever.
May 3 is a date so significant to me and Justin. I passed the bar in May 3, 2016. He passed it the same date of 2017. He proposed to me last May 3, 2018. Then we set the wedding for May 3, 2019. However, for convenience we had to move it to May 4, which was a Saturday, to accommodate more guests to come and join us in the celebration.
Vows were said. His was, “I vow to keep and continue this love story of us until forevermore.” Mine, “I will choose you and I will choose to love you, no matter what… forevermore.” Strikingly, we both promised to take each other ‘till the end of life and more.
And so to our first dance, we swayed to the music of “Forevermore” owning every word in the lyrics of the love song:
“I just can’t believe that you were mine now
You were just a dream that I once knew
I never thought I would be right for you
I just can’t compare you with anything in this world You’re all I need to be here with… forevermore” Maybe a cliché to most, but for me and Justin, it was beautiful and heartfelt just like how we wanted it to be.
