CESAR RAMIREZ & LIZA BACULOY
LOVE ONLINE
That day my professor called our class off for some important matter, my classmates and I took the time to play a game of “Gunbound” in a nearby computer shop before our next class starts. Then he joined our group and proved to be an exceptional player. So I decided to invite him into our guild. Cezar and I started to be friends since. We became more comfortable with each other as time went by and eventually a couple for 13 long years.
The challenge of living our relationship apart from each other as we took the opportunity to work outside the country, was not at all easy. It crossed my mind then to give up on the arrangement but God was with us all the way to make it work up to this time.
January 30, 2015, Cezar asked if I would marry him. For a while I felt numbed and spoke not a word. Until finally I pulled myself together and excitedly consented and said “Yes.”
Nine months before the wedding, Cezar and I started planning and preparing, attending several bridal fairs as we could. We were so hands-on from buying all the materials for our DIY giveaway souvenirs to the food-tasting required by our caterers. We were doing all the coordination ourselves and needed very minimal assistance from our wedding organizers.
The day before the wedding, the rains were heavy so we were trying to consider a Plan B option that’s indoor. We took a chance on a superstitious belief and offered 12 pieces of eggs to stop the rain but nature has its way of testing one’s faith – the rain continued to pour. Calmly, we decided to stick to our plan and went for whatever it is we prepared for, rain or shine. What mattered most to us was the sanctity of our marriage before God.
Tiffany Blue, a light medium robin egg blue colour was our choice for our motif to symbolize exclusivity. We wanted it to be very intimate with only a few of our closest family members and friends joining us in a very solemn ceremony at the Mary Mother of God Parish.
Our reception was catered by the professional services of Blanco’s who offered a hassle-free arrangements of wellselected food line up highlighted by a white-tree centrepiece for a more enchanted effect.
The AVP presentation showing the 13-years we journeyed as a couple, the first dance and the surprise talent competition participated in by both our families left us with fun memories of the celebration.
Online or offline, love truly abounds. Ours stood the test of time and distance.
