YOU ARE MY HOME
As a child, growing up I would always dream of my wedding day. All of the little details on what could make it perfect. The venue, my bouquet, my dress, the design and program, only to realize that although these details play a part in making this day memorable, it was the person that I was going to spend the rest of my life with, that really mattered - John.
From the very moment he asked for my parents’ blessing to almost two years of in-depth planning with our coordinator, everything ended up exceeding our own expectations. The planning stages were truly hands on. We took each other’s perspective and suggestions into consideration. We rarely argued about things and found more that worked for us.
What made it special is the fact that it reflected what we loved to do together. The night was filled with singing and dancing with the people closest to our hearts. The colors we wore defined who we are. John was in blue – a color of calmness. This is John as a person. He is one who will remain calm even in the face of unexpected circumstances. I, in white, stood for my feeling of wholeness and completeness. Knowing that I will be with John completes me. The bridesmaid in burgundy was a statement of richness. We are so blessed with our friends and families unconditional love and untiring support that we could not ask for anything more.
The sleek yet sophisticated acrylic box we gave away as a gift to those who honored us with their presence, was a present that truly represents our transparency – “what you see, is what you get” was how everyone knew us.
I have always believed that there will come a moment in our lives where we find someone who will love us and see beyond our flaws and imperfections; someone who will take us and make us feel safe and secure. Someone who can take us home, and home is where we both are. John is my home.
