Former actor and Senator Jinggoy Estrada (third from left) was released on a P1.33-million bail last September 16, 2017, after being detained for more than three years on graft and plunder charges for his alleged involvement in the multibillion-peso pork barrel scam of 2013. On October 8, three weeks after he left the Philippine National Police Custodial Center in Camp Crame, Quezon City, he attended his first showbiz event since his detention.

That event was the birthday party of his friend, entertainment columnist-turned-blogger Allan Diones (leftmost).

With the birthday boy and the former senator are actors Christopher de Leon (second from left) and Tirso Cruz III (rightmost).

Jinggoy, whose full name is Jose Pimentel Ejercito Jr., arrived late and stayed only for a brief chat. He said he only made good on his word that he would attend Allan’s party. Allan, who is associated with Jinggoy’s showbiz manager Lolit Solis, was one of the former senator’s regular visitors in Camp Crame.
