Quinta do Furão Restaurant

Traditional flavours with a dash of innovation

-

Located in Santana, where the sea meets the mountains, the restaurant that is part of the Quinta do Furão Hotel blends traditional cuisine with select regional products.

The space is cosy, ideal to make memories in. Service has a distinctly Madeiran feel to it and a stage worthy of one's gaze. A blend of two Madeiran worlds: gastronomy and nature. Though faithful to traditional Madeiran cuisine, the cuisine at the restaurant of Quinta do Furão embodies innovation.

Under a renewed concept, the menu includes new dishes recreated by Chef Eric Weidman and cooked in a charcoal oven. One can enjoy the traditional oven-cooked à lagareiro Octopus, corn-breaded cod, goat chanfana slowcooked in red wine inside a wood-fired oven, or desserts like sweet potato grown in Santana and bread pudding, kneaded in the restaurant's bakery. Traditional dishes still also feature at Quinta do Furão.

Preserving the ties with products from the land is a commitment. Bread is baked in the hotel. Corn and several other products are locally sourced and bought from smallscale producers. Many fresh products also come from the hotel's own estate.

Am experience of genuine flavours, set against a striking natural background. ■
