The Flower Festival is an annual event that celebrates the "island of eternal spring" and its floral diversity. In 2024, it will take place between May 2nd and 26th. On the 4th, children are invited to leave a flower on the "Wall of Hope", in a symbolic – and very topical – gesture that invites us to build a world of peace.
During these days, Funchal blooms, emanating colour, joy, and perfume, with the usual sculptures and floral carpets.
The highlight of the festivities takes place on May5th, with the Grand Allegorical Parade, in which hundreds of protagonists, dressed body and soul in floral species, parade through the streets, accompanied by floats. This magnificent spectacle dates back to 1979 and is an ode to Madeira's natural wealth and historical roots.
Speaking of history, on May 12th, classic cars invade the main arteries of Funchal's heart with the "Madeira Flower Classic Auto Parade".
On May 18th and 19th, the "Madeira Flower Collection" takes place at Quinta Magnólia, an event that fills the space with glamour and presents the best of Madeira's fashion sector, with the particularity that designers are challenged to present floral pieces.
On the 24th, 25th and 26th of May, another edition of the "Madeira Classic Car Revival" - the biggest national classic car event - and the "Barreiros Hillclimb" will take place.

No dia 4, as crianças são convidadas a deixar uma flor no “Muro da Esperança”, num gesto simbólico – e tão atual – que convida à construção de um mundo de paz.
Nestes dias, o Funchal floresce, emana cor, alegria e perfume, com as habituais esculturas e tapetes florais.
O ponto alto das festividades acontece a 5 de maio, com o Grande Cortejo Alegórico, em que centenas de protagonistas, vestidos de corpo e alma com espécies florais, desfilam pelas ruas, acompanhados por carros alegóricos. Este magnífico espetáculo remonta a 1979 e é uma ode à riqueza natural e às próprias raízes históricas da Madeira.
Falando em história, no dia 12 de maio, os carros clássicos invadem as principais artérias do coração funchalenses com o “Madeira Flower Classic Auto Parade”.
Já a 18 e 19 de maio, decorre o “Madeira Flower Collection”, na Quinta Magnólia, um evento que enche o espaço de glamour e apresenta o que de melhor se faz no setor da moda na Madeira, com a particularidade de os criadores serem desafiados a apresentar peças florais.
