EDGA RECEIVES CONTRIBUTION OF ALMOST 25 THOUSAND EUROS
The Portugal Masters has raised 25,000 euros for adapted golf, an all-inclusive variant that Turismo de Portugal and Turismo do Algarve have often supported through some of the most important events of EGDA, the European Adapted Golf Association, held in the Algarve. The EDGA is an international non-profit organization for golfers with disabilities. During the 11th Portugal Masters, in addition to every day when spectators can contribute to the cause, on Saturday, the penultimate day of the tournament, there was a morning clinic with adapted golfers to explain to fans with disabilities how they can easily play golf. Later that afternoon, there was a competition in which a European Tour star played with one of the most respected athletes on the EDGA circuit. The chosen format was ‘greensomes’, on the 18th hole of the Dom Pedro Victoria Golf Course in Vilamoura.
OPortugal Masters angariou 25 mil euros para o golfe adaptado, variante inclusiva que o Turismo de Portugal e o Turismo do Algarve têm apoiado frequentemente através de alguns dos mais importantes eventos da EGDA, a Associação Europeia de Golfe Adaptado, realizados no Algarve. A EDGA (European Disabled Golf Association) é uma organização internacional sem fins lucrativos para golfistas com deficiência. Durante o 11º Portugal Masters, para além de todos os dias os espectadores poderem contribuir para a causa, no sábado, o penúltimo dia de prova, houve uma clínica matinal com craques do golfe adaptado a explicarem a fãs com deficiências como podem praticar facilmente a modalidade. Nesse mesmo dia, ao fim da tarde, houve uma competição de exibição, em pares, na qual uma estrela do European Tour jogava com um dos atletas mais conceituados do circuito da EDGA. A modalidade escolhida foi ‘greensomes’, no buraco 18 do Dom Pedro Victoria Golf Course, em Vilamoura.
