SECOND ESGA 2018 QUALIFICATION TOURNAMENT
Nearly 150 Associates competed in the second tournament of the 1st Stage of Qualification for the teams that will represent Portugal in 2018, at the European Senior Golf Association (ESGA), on the Quinta da Marinha course. In view of the high number of participants, the tournament took place on two days. In Stroke Play James Kinnear won with 78 strokes, followed by Steve Juster with 79 and José Cândido Oliveira with 80. In Medal Net the General winner was Carlos Tinoco with 69 strokes, followed by António Sobral and Manuel Nunes Moura, both with 70. In Medal Net Master Seniors Antonio Sobral won with 70 strokes, followed by Manuel Nunes Moura with 70 and Alberto Nascimento with 72 strokes. In Medal Net Super Senior Masters, the victory went to Antonio Sobral with 70 strokes, followed by Alberto Nascimento with 72 and Francisco Sousa Coutinho with 73 strokes. It is noteworthy, besides the good results obtained, a hole in one, on Hole 10, achieved by our Associate João Zilhão. .
Perto de 150 Associados disputaram no percurso da Quinta da Marinha, o segundo torneio da 1ª Fase de Apuramento para a constituição das selecções que representarão Portugal em 2018, nos Campeonatos da Europa ESGA (European Senior Golf Association). Face ao número elevado de inscritos, o torneio realizouse em dois dias. Em Stroke Play venceu James Kinnear com 78 pancadas, seguido de Steve Juster com 79 e José Cândido Oliveira com 80. Em Medal Net Geral o vencedor foi Carlos Tinoco com 69 pancadas, seguido de António Sobral e Manuel Nunes Moura, ambos com 70. Em Medal Net Master Seniores venceu António Sobral com 70 pancadas, seguido de Manuel Nunes Moura com 70 e Alberto Nascimento com 72 pancadas. Em Medal Net Super Masters Seniores, a vitória foi para António Sobral com 70 pancadas, seguido de Alberto Nascimento com 72 e Francisco Sousa Coutinho com 73 pancadas. Resta salientar, além dos bons resultados obtidos, um hole in one, no Buraco 10, alcançado pelo nosso Associado João Zilhão.
