PRO-AM

GOLFE - - SPECIAL REPORT -

The opening Pro-Am was attended by 128 players (32 teams) representing the various sponsors of the tournament. Among the 32 professionals were eight Portuguese and of the 96 amateur guests from all over the country none were missing, which rarely happens. The tournament took place in hot weather, but the wind that erupted more intensely in the early afternoon caused greater difficulties. The triumph belonged to the Mundiarroz team led by the Swiss Marco Iten and the amateurs Vitor Rodrigues da Silva, João Escudeiro and João Potier, with 36 under par, followed by the Europcar team, with Borja Virto, Barbara Polzot, Sérgio Garcia Leanizbarutia and Joaquim Monteiro with 34 under. In third place was the NAU team Matt Ford, João Figueiredo, Carlos Conceição and Valdemar Afonso with 29 under. The prizes were distributed during a cocktail party in the late afternoon at the host club.
