Dos cem finalistas, 30 tinham handicap inferior a 10. As duas voltas decorreram com sol mas vento e frio. O campo, já em preparação para o Open de Portugal, estava em excelentes condições contribuindo para os bons resultados. Nos dois dias registaram-se 25 voltas com resultados entre os 37 e os 46 pontos. Esta final reuniu os jogadores, portugueses e alguns estrangeiros, apurados nas cinco provas de qualificação realizadas ao longo do ano em alguns dos melhores campos nacionais – Oporto, Vidago Palace, Morgado, Onyria Palmares, Old Course, Dom Pedro Victoria, Quinta da Ria e Quinta de Cima. Os prémios foram distribuídos após o almoço no Hotel Algarve Casino (que alojou todos os participantes) por Manuel Violas, presidente do Grupo Solverde, e Joel Pais, administrador dos Casinos do Algarve, com a colaboração das bailarinas do casino. “Foi uma grande final, num campo que habitualmente não tem vento e que agora se tornou mais difícil e competitiva, pelo vento. Mas todos se divertiram”, disse Joel Pais, salientando que logo a seguir à final começou a preparar as três provas do Algarve para o 17º Circuito. “Vamos definir já as datas dos três torneios do próximo ano.
