Por­tu­gal beat the Rest of the World

The Por­tu­gal team re­newed the ti­tle by win­ning the sec­ond edi­tion of the Por­tu­gal-Rest of the World an­nual match, or­ga­nized by the Or­i­zonte Group and played on the Aroeira I course, again with great suc­cess. The tour­na­ment brought to­gether 40 Por­tuguese play­ers and 40 for­eign­ers, of 12 na­tion­al­i­ties. The Por­tuguese won with 1,014 points, against 996 by the Rest of the World, where the Asian play­ers stood out. The best Por­tuguese player was Hen­rique Madeira with 39 points, while the best for­eigner was Jean-Claude Ber­gadda also with 39. The best lady in the com­pe­ti­tion was Felis­mina Bar­radas with 37 points. The win­ners re­ceived “keeper” Vista Ale­gre tro­phies, while the main tro­phy will be on dis­play at Aroeira. The prizes were dis­trib­uted af­ter a con­vivial lunch at Aroeira, which ended with a raf­fle that ben­e­fited all the par­tic­i­pants. O torneio re­uniu 40 jo­gadores por­tugue­ses e 40 es­trangeiros, de 12 na­cional­i­dades. Os por­tugue­ses gan­haram com 1.014 pon­tos, con­tra 996 do Resto do Mundo, onde se destacaram os jo­gadores asiáti­cos. O mel­hor jo­gador por­tuguês foi Hen­rique Madeira com 39 pon­tos, en­quanto o mel­hor es­trangeiro foi Jean-Claude Ber­gadda tam­bém com 39. A mel­hor sen­hora em prova foi Felis­mina Bar­radas com 37 pon­tos. Os vence­dores re­ce­beram troféus Vista Ale­gre, en­quanto o troféu prin­ci­pal fi­cará em ex­posição na Aroeira. Os prémios foram dis­tribuí­dos após o al­moço de con­vívio na Aroeira, que ter­mi­nou com uma tôm­bola que ben­efi­ciou to­dos os par­tic­i­pantes.
