With a handicap of one digit (2.8) and 19 times club champion - always in his golf courses - Donald Trump is the best golfer of all the presidents of the United States. Trump, wrote the American magazine Golf Digest, dethroned John F. Kennedy of that position, in a ranking where also enter Bill Clinton, Bush father and son and Barack Obama. George W. Bush had a handicap of 10, while Kennedy easily made a round of golf in 80 strokes. Of the last 19 ‘tenants’ of the White House, 16 were regular golfers, but none compares to Trump in terms of passion and commitment to the game. He started playing at the university, and owns a not very long, but consistent drive. When he arrived at the White House in 2016, he had 17 golf courses spread across the United States and abroad: two in Scotland, two in Dubai and one in Ireland. “For me and millions of people - men, women, young and old all over the world - golf is more than a game. It’s a passion, “he said one day in an interview. The daughter, Ivanka Trump, closer to her father, is also a golfer.

Bush chegou a ter um handicap de 10, enquanto Kennedy fazia facilamente uma volta de golfe em 80 pancadas. Dos últimos 19 ‘inquilinos’ da Casa Branca, 16 eram golfistas habituais, mas nenhum se compara a Trump em termos de paixão e compromisso pelo jogo. Começou a jogar na universidade, e é dono de um drive não muito longo, mas consistente. Quando chegou à Casa Branca, em 2016, tinha 17 campos de golfe espalhados pelos os Estados Unidos e pelo estrangeiro: dois na Escócia, dois no Dubai e um na Irlanda. “Para mim e para milhões de pessoas – homens, mulheres, jovens e velhos por todo o mundo – o golfe é mais do que um jogo. É uma paixão”, disse um dia numa entrevista. A filha, Ivanka Trump, mais próxima do pai, é também golfista.
