Integrated into the celebrations of the day of the unit and with organization of the Army Golf Club, “born” twelve years ago in Montebelo, the 8th Tournament of Golf “Viriatos” was played on the Caramulo course. Although the greens were not in the best condition, as they had been recently aerated, the results were higher, since six of the fifty players in the event managed to beat par. The winner did so quite impressively. The author of the feat was António Dias (Orizonte), who said farewell to the handicap of 22.2, while delivering a card with 47 points. He was followed by Ives Marchione and Luís Marques with 38. In Gross, victory for António Cunha with 25 points, followed by Jose Santos with the same score, and Agostinho Lopes with 23 points. Henrique Mateus obtained the longest drive, José de Oliveira the best shot on the 12th hole and António Dias the best 2nd shot on the 14th hole. The commander of the unit, Colonel Luís Calmeiro, assisted by Colonels João Ambrósio and Bento, awarded the prizes, as well as a raffle.

Integrado nas comemorações do dia da unidade e com organização do Clube de Golfe do Exército, clube “nascido” há doze anos no Montebelo, foi disputado no percurso caramulo o 8º Torneio de Golfe “Viriatos”. Muito embora os greens não se encontrassem nas melhores condições, pois tinham sido recentemente furados, os resultados obtidos foram de nível superior, dado que seis dos cinquenta jogadores em prova, conseguiram derrotar o campo. O vencedor fê-lo mesmo de forma bem expressiva. O autor da proeza foi António Dias (Orizonte), que aproveitou para se despedir do handicap ega de 22,2, ao entregar um cartão com 47 pontos. Foi seguido por Ives Marchione e Luís Marques com 38. Em gross, liderou António Cunha com 25 pontos, seguido do José Santos com igual pontuação, e Agostinho Lopes com 23. Henrique Mateus obteve a pancada mais longa, José de Oliveira o melhor shot no buraco 12 e o António Dias o melhor 2º shot no buraco 14. O comandante da unidade coronel Luís Calmeiro, coadjuvado pelos coronéis João Ambrósio e Bento, procederam á entrega dos prémios, bem como de uma tômbola.
