BPI 2019 CHAMPIONS
The final of the 27th BPI Golf Challenge was held on the Vidago Palace course and brought together the 72 finalists and guests qualified throughout the year in the qualifying stages, which took place in the North, Center, Lisbon, Algarve, Azores and Madeira.
The three BPI champions of 2019 are Miramar (Manuel Oliveira), Aroeira (Vitor Saramago) and Viseu (Maria Helena Costa). The final was played under heavy rain, but the excellent conditions of the course helped produce the good results. The Gross winner was Manuel Oliveira with 29 points, followed by Afonso Martins (Porto) also with 29. In Net Vitor Saramago won with 39 points, followed by Nelson Machado (Verdegolf, Azores) with 36 and Júlio Pires (Palmares) 35.
The Women’s tournament was won by Maria Helena Costa with 40 points, followed by Ana Paula Saúde (Estoril) 32 and July Franco (Santo da Serra, Madeira) 30. Among the Guests the first Lady was Dina Ferreira (Beloura) with 33 points and first Man was Fernando Marques (Tróia) with 31.
The special prizes went to Manuel Nobre, July Franco, Julião Pinto Leite and Teresa Mata. The trophies were distributed during lunch at the host club, followed by a large raffle.
Afinal do 27º BPI Golf Challenge disputou-se no percurso do Vidago Palace e reuniu os 72 finalistas e convidados apurados ao longo do ano na fase de qualificação, que se realizou no norte, centro, Lisboa, Algarve, Açores e Madeira.
Os três campeões BPI de 2019 são de Miramar (Manuel Oliveira), Aroeira (Vitor Saramago) e Viseu (Maria Helena Costa). A final foi disputada sob chuva intensa, mas as excelentes condições do campo ajudaram para os bons resultados.
O vencedor gross foi Manuel Oliveira com 29 pontos, seguido de Afonso Martins (Oporto) também com 29. Em net ganhou Vitor Saramago com 39 pontos, seguido de Nelson Machado (Verdegolfe, Açores) com 36 e Júlio Pires (Palmares) 35.
A prova feminina foi ganha por Maria Helena Costa com 40 pontos, ficando a seguir Ana Paula Saúde (Estoril) 32 e July Franco (Santo da Serra, Madeira) 30. Entre os convidados a primeira senhora foi Dina Ferreira (Beloura) com 33 pontos e a prova masculina foi ganha por Fernando Marques (Tróia) com 31. Os prémios especiais foram para Manuel Nobre, July Franco, Julião Pinto Leite e Teresa Mata. Os troféus foram distribuídos durante o almoço no clube anfitrião, seguindo-se uma grande tômbola.
